My BOOKed Birthday + a detox of sorts

The space between 4 and 55. Oh the things that have happened in this space! Sheesh!

There are MANY times when I’ve lost my way / got off course. Even now I am still peeling back layers to truly get back to who I am and who I am meant to be for my time here and in this lifetime.

On repeat in my head: ‘CHOOSE ME’ and not worrying if others think I am being selfish or being a b***h because I know the truth.

This is harder than it sounds - at least for me. To watch my phone ring, for someone I would normally help (or enable), even though I have my own stuff to do, is not easy.

*random - I feel like that last sentence had too many commas. This is why I leave em all out sometimes. Grammar experts give ya girl some grace. At least I know to/too, your/you’re, then/than…..

And it doesn’t happen overnight. I swear I’ve been on a detox and it includes withdrawals.

But it is growth.

I saw on quote on Pinterest that said: “She set her boundaries and rebuilt her life”!

I am the one who allowed it. I take full responsibility.

This has been/is a tearing down to rebuild and I am excited about it! And I am ready for 55 aka DOUBLE NICKEL!

Maybe I should make a tradition of visiting Independent bookstores on my birthday.

In the picture below, I drove to Austin on my birthday in 2021 just so I could visit The Painted Porch.
