In the spring I mentioned that I might talk more about this after watching Michael Gervais and Rich Roll have this conversation.
I have asked several people (myself included) because Gervais says….
First, what’s your answer?
He says most people say between four and six (1:52:00 mark) and no one ever says ‘I am on version 200 of myself’. He wonders why.
Needless to say, that has been on my mind ever since.
Most recently while purging and reading The Source it has been heavy on the brain.
As a result, I want to make sure I am very mindful about letting go of (not holding on to) past versions of myself.
At the same time, I want to celebrate and appreciate versions of myself that are already long gone even thought they may have served me well during a certain time in my life.
The self that used to…
try to help solve every problem that was presented to me
love re-creating Barefoot Contessa meals (I learned soooo much from her)
love mixing patterns and color blocking her wardrobe
not think about mobility and healthy knees
cut deep with her tongue (work in progress - she’s way more tamed though - like waaaay more)
feel if it wasn’t a pool of sweat, did a workout really happen
feel the need to answer / respond to every text, call, email, fly remark…..
etc etc….
This list could go on and on.
I have left many versions of Sally behind and there are others that I thought I’d left behind but things happen and I realize she’s still there and I have more work to do.
It is a forever journey of….
healing
growing
having setbacks
evolving
more setbacks
trying again and again and AGAIN
But the goal is always forward. I like to say ‘forward movement’. That is, working to get to the next level of growth - a better version of ourselves.
I just read something along the lines of “If you’re not growing, you’re just getting old”
Here’s to growth and staying in pursuit of a better version of ourselves.
Thanks so much for being here.
See ya next Sunday!
Hugs, Love, and Gratitude Y’all!

Ooooo… that’s a good question but I have no idea how many versions of myself I have had to let go of …. I just continue to learn and grow and whatever isn’t serving me at that time gets left by the wayside and that in itself is an ongoing process … that will never end 😍 xoxoxo
