This has been on my mind a lot lately. There’s a quote I read a while back that says….
“Can you remember who you were before the world told you who you should be?“ - Charles Bukowski
I’ve done many exercises over the years thinking back to childhood trying to remember the things I was always drawn to.
Robert Greene talks about how the answers to what we are here to do (our Life’s Task) can be found by reconnecting with our childhood.
“You possess a kind of inner force that seeks to guide you toward your Life’s Task - what you are meant to accomplish…… In childhood this force was clear to you. It directed you toward activities and subjects that fit your natural inclinations, that sparked a curiosity that was deep and primal….the force tends to fade in and out as you listen more to parents and peers…..” - Robert Greene | Mastery
Do you remember the things you enjoyed as a child?
Are you doing some of those things now or are you far away from it?
When is the last time you thought about what YOU like to do? What you WANT to do?
We are drawn to things for a reason. It’s no coincidence. But are we listening? Are we paying attention or are we pushing it down?
I’m still working on peeling back the layers that have been piled on as a result of Lawrence McMullin in my head, people poking fun, fear, self-doubt, on and on. I want to get back to the core of who I am and make sure I do all the things that I was put here to do!
“The hidden force within you is always there and ready to be engaged.”

A couple things that help me to rediscover me are journaling and silence/meditation?
I’d love to hear about your childhood dreams? Where are they now? See you in the comments.
Thanks so much for being here.
See ya next Sunday!
Hugs, Love, and Gratitude Y’all!

I was suppose to be a singer. All the women in my family sing. It didn’t work out that way. During college I did Summer Work Study. Found myself at the Film Fund. FF funded social issue media. It was great. It taught me to value educating and organizing folk about, around social issue. Plus it was in Greenwich Village! Worked there every summer of college!! And for a year after. FF did a benefit honoring Harry Belafonte. Rosa Parks was there, James Baldwin and on!!! Everyone…Through this event I learned, realized I could make things happen. Became a concert and music festival producer. Joining music & organizing.
I’m just now fulfilling my childhood dreams of being a nurse. I put my dreams aside to raise my kids and start a family. Once my oldest son graduated college a couple years back I decided it was my turn. So I enrolled in school and completed my pre reqs, applied and was accepted into nursing school for part 1 of my nursing journey. I’m hoping to get into the second phase of the nursing program starting in January for my actual nursing degree. I forgot how much I enjoy learning bc as a kid it wasn’t “cool” to be smart. As an adult it’s dope!!!
