3 THINGS I GOT INTO THIS WEEK
I stumbled across House & Garden’s YouTube channel and watched several beautiful home tours/videos - specifically, DESIGN NOTES.
If you like that kinda thing. Go get lost on the channel.
Sophie Ashby’s home with her husband Charlie Casely-Hayford was a fave!
Quote from TD Jakes’s latest book: “Anger is the new American pastime.” - WHEW!
He is not saying the anger we are feeling is not valid. However he is suggesting we ask:
What are we going to do about it?
What disruption are we willing to make in our lives to bring about change?
Do you consider yourself to be a ‘solutions oriented’ person / a disruptor?
TV ART - I took my TV down for almost two years. I have been lusting after the Samsung Frame TV forever because I love the idea of it not looking like a TV - especially in my small space.
I finally put my back into figuring out how to do it on a regular smart TV
The solution: YouTube videos! Yooooooo!
I have done fireplaces, water streams, and whatnot but it didn’t occur to me to do art until another YouTuber mentioned it! - DUHHHHH!
In search I typed ‘Black TV Art’, ‘Abstract TV Art’, etc etc - you can find one that plays for hours or you can put the one you choose on REPEAT.
For me, it’s been a perfect cheat code.
I like that this one hips me to new Black art and artists
I like that they have chosen the same piece of art for the entire hour long video
Is this something you would try?
Please let me know if you do + let me know what kind of art you choose. If you happen to have the Samsung Frame TV….
kidding! I’m just jealous.
THAT’S IT Y’ALL - see ya here next Sunday at 3p CT
