Things discovered in real life and online that you may like too.
SHE TRIED IT - on emails/texts/social media posts - go back and read them one more time.
I started taking the time to read my emails/texts/social media posts one more time after James Clear talked about making this a habit.
When I do this, I almost always find a typo or some error. And when I don’t, I text our new CEO, ‘ho’ instead of ‘hi’! - Yup! That actually happened!
Lesson: take the time to go back and read it ONE MORE TIME! - I mean you knew what that link would be right!?! You know you thought it too!
QUOTE currently on repeat in my head - When I first heard Brené Brown’s interview with Oprah she said something that stuck in my head and recently I remembered why it’s such a great quote.
“Everyone doesn’t deserve to hear your story.”
MAN! Ain’t that the truth! I cannot tell you the number of times I have thought about this quote. To me, it’s not just your life story/shame story. It can be sharing something that’s really important and you need a true listener vs. someone who will not be fully engaged or will tell you all the ways you should NOT feel how you feel!
So the next time you prepare to ‘share your story’ or vent to someone, make sure they ‘deserve to hear your story’.
MUSIC stuff - Like most people these days, I listen to streaming music. During my recent move I popped in some CDs I have held on to!
Can we talk about the sound difference!? It never occurred to me the quality of sound would be different! But DUH! Any audiophiles here - I am not one but geez!
For instance, a CD might be great at volume 50 but streaming would have to be at volume 68. If you happen to have a CD laying around, try it.
I’ve been playing more CDs lately. I won’t be giving up the luxuries of streaming music (playlists, unlimited library, etc...) but I will be enjoying both.
Do you have any CDs?
