Things discovered in real life and online that you may like too.
TRIED IT - reducing my sugar intake. This has been an ongoing thing for me. I love sweets.
To cut back, I have done extreme (more my personality) and I’ve done gradual - a ‘weaning off’ if you will.
When it comes to sugar, gradual has been best for me.
For instance, with my coffee, this has been the ‘gradual process’:
sugar + creamer + coffee
creamer + coffee (this creamer allowed me to forgo sugar)
agave + vanilla almond milk + coffee
Lately, I have been playing with reducing the agave and/or reducing the amount of almond milk.
This progression reduced my grams of sugar by more than HALF without sacrificing my enjoyment/taste.
For those of you who take your coffee black, SALUTE!
How do you take your coffee?
WATCHED IT - Here’s two podcasts/interviews I found interesting this week…
Transform Your Life With Food: Chef Babette On Fitness At 70+, Self Love & Reinvention w/Rich Roll
some of the reasons I enjoyed it:
She reinvented herself over and over again even in her 40s and 50s.
She’s all about movement + eating well
She overcame some hard sh*t
I will say if you are squeamish (like me), you might skip during the 45-50 minute mark. It was too much/too graphic.
Find her instagram here.
Marriage Be Hard Conversations w/Chance & Tabitha Brown hosts: Kevin & Melissa Fredericks
some reasons I enjoyed it (even though I’m single SINGLE):
They are very pro relationship/marriage
They discuss real challenges in a marriage
Some great nuggets about raising children & marriage (again, even though I am single and childless lol)
They also have a book: Marriage Be Hard - I haven’t read the book but I love the cover!
READ IT - Roma Downey says ‘FIND A FAMILY’ - My costar, Della Reese, ended up being the mother I had been looking for- she taught me so much, and I love her and miss her dearly. She said, “Baby, I knew God brought you into my life because you needed a mom. I just didn’t know he brought you into my life because I needed a baby girl.”
