Day 1 - throw out one thing
Day 2 - throw out two things
Day 3 - throw out three things
Day 15 - throw out fifteen things.
Keep this pattern up for 30 days and in one month you will have tossed 500+ things.
I did this challenge some years back and I got rid of so much. I learned about it from The Minimalists (this is NOT about being a minimalist).
I went through my entire apartment - kitchen, makeup, files, clothes, pens, everyDAMNthing.
I try my best to purge regularly.
I am not currently doing the challenge but for the past few days I have been going through jewelry, makeup, clothes, shoes, etc….
My goal is to get my closet to a point where I love and wear everything in it. This is ongoing because I still make buying mistakes from time to time or struggle letting something go because I think: ‘but it is soooo pretty’ (just not on me) or ‘I might be able to wear it to an event’ (with no such event anywhere on the calendar).
With makeup I had to make myself let go of the time when I used to wear it a certain way or wasn’t focused on buying ‘clean’ brands. Basically, accepting that I am a different version of me now.
Like I said, it’s a process and this 30 day challenge is a great way to ease into purging.
For me, it never fails, once I do it, I feel so good about it. I am not saying it won’t ever happen, but I have yet to regret tossing anything.
How often do you purge?
What friend can you invite to do the challenge with you? (I did it solo)
See you in the comments….
Thanks so much for being here.
See ya next Sunday!
Hugs, Love, and Gratitude Y’all!
